Exploring
I traveled to NYC this past month to soak up its art. I got delightfully lost in Frida and Diego: The Last Dream
at MoMA — Kahlo and Rivera staged inside a dreamy opera set. I also made it to the Met
for the very first time, and my favorite stop was the Temple of Dendur: an ancient Egyptian sandstone temple finished by 10 B.C. and built under the Roman emperor Augustus to honor the goddess Isis. Egypt gave it to the United States in 1965, and today it stands reassembled inside a sun-filled glass gallery beside a reflecting pool. Highly recommend slowly walking all the way around it — the carved papyrus and lotus rising from the temple’s base, the winged sun disks overhead, and the pharaoh’s offerings to the gods all reward a close, quiet look.

Running
I did it! 🎉 Crossed my very first 8K finish line at the Running of the Bulls. Now I’ve got my eye on a bigger horizon — training for a 10K in the coming year.
